Denial

I have been debating since November writing this blog post because I have a serious case of denial and I just don't want to believe that things are changing and that I am indeed getting older.  However, there comes a point when I just need to suck it up and realize that things happen for a reason and in the entire scheme of life this "trial" will only be a moment as opposed to the eternity I feel it will be.

We haven't told very many people this so some people might know and others might not, but Danny has chosen to accept an amazing job opportunity in Denver.  I am so proud of him and all the hard work he has put into school and getting a job to provide for our little family.  He really does deserve to work for a company that he feels passionate about, even if it means I am forced WAY outside of my comfort zone.  He accepted a job working for DaVita, which is a kidney dialysis company.  I am not entirely sure what he will be doing but it will have something to do with finances.  Danny accepted the job in November so we have known for 5 months that after graduation that is where we will be ending up.  However, silly me, I didn't want to believe that that was the case and I really thought this whole time it has been a joke and someone is going to jump out from behind a bush and yell " Just kidding, we just wanted you to poop in your pants for a while."  The closer the day is getting the more I am realizing its happening.

However I am kind of excited for a couple of reasons...
  1. Bigger fridge- we have absolutely been blessed to live in my parents basement for next to nothing in rent and being able to have the freedom of being a little less frugal with our money.  But I NEED a bigger fridge.  We can fit probably two days worth of food in our current one :)
  2. A place to call our own.  Even though we have our own space I don't feel like it is really ours and it will be nice to be able to walk around the entire house in our underwear with no judgements.
  3.  We will be moving to a place where both of us don't know anyone and we can make new friends and memories together.  Don't get me wrong we love our friends and of course our families and all those people that mean so much to us here in Utah but obviously life isn't all rainbows and unicorns and warm fuzzies so there are things we will be more enthusiastic about leaving behind.
  4. We get to provide a free vacation (minus travel, :)but we would if we could) for those that want to visit us and Colorado!! This makes me so excited because with times being hard and money is tight with a lot of people I am so excited to tell people that they can stay with us!! It will be great!  I also hear that Denver has the best mall ever :) and I guess some cool hiking trails and stuff...;)
But obviously I do have some fears...
  1. I don't want to miss out on all the big and small things that happen in our families lives while we are gone.  I love going to soccer games, family dinners, rice crispy treat parties, and seeing all dates that Sam, Nate, Natalie and Nick will be going on.  I am most sad about missing out on all the adventures with Charlotte, Zac and new little Kowallis.  Even right now the thought is making me want to cry.
  2. I am soooo worried that I might actually love it in Denver and never want to come back and then my families will think that I don't care about missing everything.
  3. I absolutely hate with a passion going places on my own.  I will do it if I have to but I would much rather have an errand buddy.  I am going to be alone for the majority of the days and that freaks me out to high heaven.
  4. I am super worried about the calling they will give us in our new ward.  I feel like I am just starting to feel ok about teaching with Danny.
  5. Meeting new people has gotten incredibly hard for me because I get such severe anxiety about fitting in that I literally feel sick and obviously we will be meeting a ton of new people.
I think know I am making it out to be much worse than it will be but it makes me feel a little bit sick.  So...in hopes that it can be as great of an experience that everyone says it can be I am more than open to help hints and tips for anything ranging from best way to move our stuff, places to live, how not to be scared to be on my own that doesn't involve a baby;) and all the good things in between!!
